As a part of the long-standing practice of the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje, according to the annual program of the Faculty of Entrepreneurial Business on December 5, 2017, guest lecturer at UTMS Mr. Jovan Grkov, founder and owner of the company "Urban Invest". Mr. Jovan Grkov won the title of honorary doctor of science at UTMS for a special contribution in the business and the entrepreneurship in the Republic of Macedonia. He spoke to the employees, students of UTMS and the students from SGGUGS "Zdravko Cvetkovski" on the topic "The Challenges for establishing and leading their own business". In his lecture, Mr. Grkov elaborated all the key entrepreneurial aspects for creating a successful business with a focus on continuous market research, market segmentation, and identification of the customer wishes, continuous innovation and creation of products that will satisfy the needs of buyers. He explained the challenges for creating competitive and high quality products for the domestic and foreign market, the necessity for entrepreneurial competencies, skills and knowledge, the ability to take the risk of developing and realizing their own ideas, but also continuous training, synergy and teamwork.

In this regard, he shared with his students his personal, professional and practical experience, emphasizing the need for vision, desire and ambition in creating a successful entrepreneurial business.

Students had the opportunity to supplement their theoretical knowledge in the field of management, business and entrepreneurship that they acquire within the teaching with a practical example of a family business "Urban Invest", which with its diversified production program, highly educated staff, new sophisticated technology and the highly developed environmental and social business approach is one of the main participants in the construction materials industry in Macedonia and in the surrounding markets.
